Est. Charleston · 2020

Ma'am Saab began as a craving, for the food of back home, cooked the way it was meant to be: bold, generous, full of feeling. What started as a string of Charleston pop-ups in 2019 became a love letter to the subcontinent: the chaats of Karachi's markets, the karahis of the super highway, the slow nihari of old Lucknow, all brought home to Meeting Street.
We cook bold, modern Pakistani food with real spice and real heart, and we treat every guest like someone we've been waiting for. From a borrowed kitchen to a permanent home on Meeting Street, the mission hasn't changed: make you feel something, and send you home a little more in love. Come see us... Your table awaits.
Each plate holds a moment
There is a Frontier Kabab on our menu that is my mother's. A karahi in honor of my late uncle, the man who introduced me to the best karahi I have ever tasted. A nihari that took me half a lifetime to understand, and now I cannot live without. None of it is here by accident.
Ma'am Saab is the table I always wished I could set, the one where the food tastes like home and nobody is in a hurry to leave. Everything on it is something I love. I am just glad you came to share it.
So who is Ma'am Saab? She's the love of a mother, the care of a sister, the dedication of a mentor, the inspiration of a teacher. She's the feminine energy that keeps the world turning, the force behind creation and creativity, which is exactly what we do here. We all have a Ma'am Saab in our lives. We all have one within us. Yes, even the men.
Come hungry. Come as you are. We saved you a seat.
